Compare with your own words
The sample reads నమస్కారం. (“Greetings”) and ధన్యవాదాలు. (“Thank you”). Replace it with your Telugu text; every loaded card updates together. Change the size to judge letters, vowel marks and spacing at the scale you will use.
The previews use each font’s regular weight. A Loaded label means that font is ready. If a font cannot load, its card shows an error and a retry button instead of displaying a substitute under its name. Long previews scroll within their cards.
Text and fonts travel separately
Copying ordinary text does not preserve this page’s font appearance. A font changes how Unicode Telugu looks, not what the text says. Install the font on your computer and select it in your document to use that appearance.
These are Unicode fonts, not legacy font converters. If copied text turns into Latin symbols or unreadable characters, changing the font alone may not fix an old non-Unicode document. For new text, start with our Telugu typing tool or Telugu keyboard.
Install on Windows
Open a font’s Google Fonts page and use its download option. Extract the downloaded ZIP, then right-click a TTF or OTF file and select Install. Open your document app again if the new font is not listed.
Install on a Mac
Download and unzip the font. Open its TTF or OTF file in Font Book, then choose Install. Font Book can validate the file and flag duplicates. Reopen your writing app if needed.
Use in Microsoft Word
After installing a font, open desktop Word, paste your Telugu text and select it. Choose the installed font by name from the font menu. Check line spacing so marks are not clipped. Word for the web may not offer your locally installed fonts.
Free fonts, with their licenses
All six families are distributed by Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. You can use them in personal and commercial documents. Keep the copyright and license notices when sharing font files; the license has conditions for modification and redistribution. Each card links to its own license.
Preview files are hosted on this site and load as you approach each card. Your preview text stays in your browser and is not sent to Google Fonts or analytics. Download links open Google Fonts, where you can review the family and obtain the original files.
