Write the sounds you know
English in Telugu Typing is the full name of this website. The interface uses the shorter name Telugu Typing. It is designed for people who know how a Telugu word sounds and are comfortable typing with an English keyboard.
Enter a Roman spelling, choose a Telugu suggestion, and copy the result into a message or document. The editor is free to use and does not require registration.
From typing to something you can use
- Messages: online Telugu suggestions, Keep English, English and Telugu modes, native text editing, copy, character counts and Undo. Keep names, numbers and line breaks together for a WhatsApp message.
- Documents: download plain UTF-8 TXT or an editable DOCX, generated in your browser. The Word guide covers fonts, spacing and a downloadable sample.
- Fonts and images: bring your writing into six free Telugu font previews, then create a PNG that keeps its appearance. Copied text and DOCX use the fonts available in the destination app.
- Another way to type: use the online InScript keyboard or its printable PDF and PNG layouts.
- Resuming your work: optional device draft saving keeps the latest text for up to 30 days after editing. It is off by default.
For text already written in Romanized Telugu, try the experimental short-paragraph converter. It retains the original, accepts words to keep unchanged and lets you review each converted word. It has passage limits and does not restore text after a reload.
What to expect from suggestions
Suggestions come from Google Input Tools. The service matches the sounds of your Roman spelling to Telugu script; it does not translate the meaning of English sentences. Candidate order and availability can vary. Always review important wording before using it.
When suggestions are unavailable, your typed text stays in the editor. You can keep editing, copy it, or download it. Read how your text is handled for the distinction between page memory and online candidate requests.
Text handling and availability
New word suggestions require an internet connection. TXT, DOCX and PNG generation happen in your browser. Optional drafts stay in this browser profile; this site does not save your writing to a server. The privacy policy explains online requests, local saving and usage measurement.
Maintenance and feedback
This site's work includes the typing tools, downloads and practical guides linked above. Recent usability updates bring message, Word and image entries together and make the paragraph converter's main steps easier to find.
The typing examples link to Unicode letter references and Cambridge dictionary entries. Their Roman inputs are also checked with the online suggestions and the editor’s English-mode and paragraph keep-list workflows. These checks do not guarantee a spelling in every context or replace review by a Telugu reader. For a spelling issue, include the Roman input, the suggestion you received and the spelling you expected. A Telugu reader's correction is welcome.
